Opening up this show is KeepSweet. Conceived as a showcase for the absolute raunchiest song ever recorded, Lucille Bogan's 1926 non-hit “Shave 'Em Dry,” KeepSweet aims to bring all the long-forgotten tales of blueswomen’s triumphs to light. What The Detroit Cobras does for garage rock rarities, KeepSweet does for women’s blues from the 20s and 30s... provided they’re songs about drinkin’, killin’, and whorin’.

2009 IBC finalists, The Aces go on next in San Francisco at Annie’s Social Club, and The Joe McMurrian Quartet joins the tour for some of the northernmost dates.

Things get even louder when King Clarentz takes the stage. Find out why the late Cub Koda called King “...a totally modern-thinking, cutting-edge bluesman who produces a sound that is positively crude and archaic. More than just a good-time performer with a backwoods style, Clarence Brewer is a modern artist with much to say and a beautifully raucous way of saying it.”
